This week I did a clean up on this lawn that I pass by every week. Since it’s fall it needed a good leaf clean up. When I got to the house I noticed it was for sale and I knocked on the door just in case to see if anyone still lived there. No one answered, then I met a neighbor that was just walking by. I asked her what she would like to see done on the house besides a leaf clean up. She suggested I of course clean up the leaves and clean out the gutters if I could. After getting her advice I got right to work. I started off by leaf blowing the whole yard. I made the mistake of leaf blowing everything to the center of the yard first. Instead I should have cleaned out the gutters and roof before I blew everything on the ground. That way I would save some time leaf blowing. To leaf blow and clean the gutters I used my husqvarna backpack blower. Then I moved on to picking up all the leaves using my rake from Lowes and a 32 gallon plastic bucket. While I was doing that the next door neighbor who is 83 years old came out and told me the people who lived here before would NEVER take care of their lawn. She also said that many times she leaf blew their lawn out of the kindness of her heart. I don’t know why the home owners never did their lawn but I'm glad I got to help Arlene with that difficult task, and hopefully she never has to do that again. After that I weed wacked and edged the whole yard with my echo weed wacker. When that was done I switched over to my trimmer head attachment and trimmed up all the bushes. Once again I blew everything into a pile onto the lawn and raked it all up. Then I mowed the lawn and all the remaining debris so I could mulch them up using my Honda push mower. Lastly, I blew one last time and the yard clean up was complete.
