Anyone with cool season turf can undertake this strategy but I highly recommend anyone with warm season turf (Bermuda, Zoysia, St Augustine, Centipede and Bahaaaiiiiiiia) all strongly consider a pre-emergent strategy for fall time.
Basic Strategy Cool Season Lawns: (where the ground freezes) 4lbs/1000 when soil temps fall to 70F (September usually) That should be all you need to prevent Henbit, poa annua, chickweed, etc. Whatever you have leftover just use it next season for your spring crabgrass pre-emergent. The added potash in this product is a bonus too going into the fall.
Basic Strategy Warm Season Lawns: (where the ground doesn't freeze) ((this strategy would also work for turf type tall fescue lawns in the transition zone))
