When should you fertilize your lawn? Caring for Bermuda grass is different than cool season lawn types, they grow at different times of the year! Do not get caught up in the hardware store hype this early spring, your lawn isn't ready for food! Be patient, control the weeds and follow these steps for a great lawn.
The recommended application rate of Nitrogen I use in the video is based on Bermuda in North Carolina, which is recommended to use between 4-5lbs of N annually. Your area may differ, so be sure to look up your state extension program to see exactly what your area needs.

Schedule: Spring--After the lawn is out of dormancy, April/May: .5-.75 lb N/1000sqft. Use a weed and feed to combat any early season weeds or weeds from winter.
Summer--1lb/1000sqft every 4-6 weeks (June, July Aug) Use a N heavy turf fertilizer like Lesco or Scotts, 24-0-11 or 18-0-4 are good NPK ratings
Fall-- .5-.75lb N about 4 weeks before the first frost. For me that is mid-September. Use a balanced, 10-10-10 product to give the lawn overall nutrients heading into winter.
