In this video, I will show you what causes a lawn to be spongy and more importantly how to fix it. I explain what makes a lawn spongy to walk on and show how to fix it with a before and after.
Any lawn that is spongy usually has a deep layer of thatch, to fix it. This is needed to be stripped away through scarification and aeration. Then the lawn is seeded and topdressed, for this video we used a bagged screened topsoil and then levelled the lawn afterwards. This also ensures good seed-to-soil contact. I show some different ways this can be done with some basic tools
