Today I wanted to ask you guys what you are charging for a mowing tall grass fee, and if you guys have also heard of this new trend of NO MOW MAY.
Back in the day we used to give away the farm and not charge a new customer when they had an overgrown lawn. Then we started adding a small premium of $10-$20 on top of the first mow. These days are we now reserving the right to charge the customer a double cut fee (2x the mow price) if they are a new sign up and the lawn hasn't been cut yet.
With gas prices the way they are and what we're paying for labor, we have to recoup these costs and charge appropriately. What are you guys charging when you have a new client sign up and the lawn is extremely tall?
Lastly, have you guys heard of this new trend "No Mow May"? This is a new one to me.. I don't know where it popped up, but to me it makes very little sense. I get letting the bees pollinate, but I don't understand how that has anything to do with the lawns AND having folks spend 3-4x the time and energy to get the lawns back into shape June 1. Please explain!
