Today we're going to talk about a controversial topic when it comes so string trimmers, and that is whether or not take the guard off the trimmer. Some folks rip them off on day one, other folks run them for the life of the unit.
The question I get asked the most regarding guard or no guard is whether or not your "allowed to" as a business. The simple answer is: it depends!
Technically you're supposed to operate the equipment the way it was intended as it was sold from the manufacturer. That being said, almost every person I know who mows grass for a living takes their guard off so the string runs longer.
