👉 Today we're tackling a seriously neglected lawn that was covered in moss and hadn't been cared for in years. But don't worry, we're here to give it some much-needed TLC and bring it back to life.
⭐ First things first, we started by aerating the lawn. Aeration is important because it allows air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots of your grass, which helps them grow stronger and healthier. We didn't show this part in the video, but trust us, it was an essential first step.
⭐ Next up, we scarified the lawn. This involves using a special machine to remove the moss and thatch that had built up on the surface of the grass. The benefits of scarifying are twofold: it allows your grass to breathe better and it helps to prevent disease and pests from taking hold.
⭐ After we had scarified the lawn, it was time to clean up all the mess. We bagged up all the debris and disposed of it properly.
👉 Time to thicken up the lawn with some new grass - Overseeding is the process of adding new grass seed to an existing lawn to fill in thin or bare spots.
💡It's an important step because it helps to increase the density of your grass, which can make it look fuller and more vibrant.
⭐ Then, we brought in some high-quality, screened, heat-treated, weed-free soil. The benefits of using heat-treated soil are that it eliminates harmful pathogens and weed seeds, which helps to prevent future problems in your lawn.
⭐ Finally, we levelled the soil using a drag mat. This ensures that the surface of the lawn is nice and even, which makes it easier for your grass to grow evenly and look great.
👉 The lawn is looking so much better already, and with a little bit of ongoing care and maintenance, it should continue to improve and thrive.
