The trick is firstly make sure is is cutting right and you can test this by seeing if it cuts paper. If it doesn't then you'll need to adjust it. Next do some runs without using the reel. Cylinder mowers are driven from the rear roller so you'll have to get used to the action and this will need some practice to become smooth. Once you get the technique down it is time to cut the lawn while it is going. Start by doing a very light cut, a high height of cut so to speak. With more practice you'll be cutting like a champion.
