Turn a Zero Turn Mower Without Tearing Up Grass

Learn how to turn a zero turn mower without tearing up grass. Is you driving leaving ruts or tire marks in the lawn? It can be tempting to turn a mower on a dime, but that can sometimes lead to turf damage. I would encourage a gently 3 point turn, especially with soft, damp turf. If the lawn is dry then more aggressive turns will be more tolerable. Also, please don't go onto the driveway to make a turn when the turf is wet. It can leave a nasty tire mark on the driveway. I would recommend making one or even two perimeter passes before making passes back and forth and laying down those impressive stripes. Changing mowing patterns can also help with rut free turns. Heavy mowers going in the same direction every week can eventually cause ruts, especially on soft ground.
