It's almost Spring and everyone is itching to apply preemergent to prevent weed germination. I like to pull tough weeds, like clumping fescue, by hand before I apply my preemergent because if I do it afterwards I risk breaking the vapor barrier the preemergent creates allowing weeds to break through. It also allows me to hold off on the tougher herbicides until later in Spring.
