PETITTI Early Spring Lawn Care Tips

Late March into early April is one of the best times to start working on the lawn. In addition to fertilizing, there are other simple steps you can take to make your lawn thrive through the entire season. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn 8 things you can do in early spring to prepare your lawn for success. One of the first things we recommend is raking the lawn to help promote air circulation and break up snow mold. Testing your lawn pH levels will let you know what steps to take next, whether it be fertilizing with Step 1 in a 4 step program or providing Lightning Lime™ to balance the acidity in the soil. Remember, if you plan to spread any grass seed at all, use Step® 1 for Seeding to ensure the grass grows and the weeds don't. Top it all off with Espoma® Iron-tone® to give an extra boost that greens up the lawn!
